The hinges hold the display firmly in place. The lid twists too easily, which in turn results in image distortions on the display. In addition, the base unit should be sturdier in view of a price tag of 1050 Euros (~$1117). For example, the base unit can be depressed too easily in front of the touchpad. There is more to complain in terms of stability. The left side of the display frame is slightly protruding and the resulting edge is noticeable. The notebook is well made to a large extent.
In order to reach the inner components, you will have to remove the underside. There are light color accents on the rear side at the fan grilles: Thin, red lines are used here. The case is made entirely of matte black plastic. However, there is a difference: The GL62M does not have an optical drive.
MSI uses the same case as that of the predecessor, MSI GL62 6QF.
